Overview

I hold a bachelor’s degree (1982) from the University of Karachi and a masterÂ’s degree (1985) in Economics from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. In the early phase of my career, I served the National Development Finance Corporation – a leading DFI working under Ministry of Finance — for about 12 years as a Research Economist. My professional responsibilities at NDFC included economic evaluation of industrial projects in diverse sectors such as textile, sugar, cement, paper, and chemicals. I was also involved in preparing detailed sectoral studies, including those on PakistanÂ’s hotel, leather tanning, and pharmaceutical industries. Alongside the analytical work, I developed analytical briefs, speeches, and reviews for senior management, and contributed significantly to the Financial & Economic Update, NDFCÂ’s in-house publication besides handling editing assignments and contributing content that enhanced the organizationÂ’s professional publications. After opting for voluntary retirement under the corporationÂ’s Golden Handshake Scheme in 1998, I joined Oasis International as a Research Executive in 1999.

Transitioning to academia in 2000 marked the second major phase of my professional journey. Over the past two decades, I have established myself as an experienced English Language Instructor, Coordinator, and Academic Leader. I initially served for six years as a senior English Language Instructor at Domino Education Services (Defence Campus) and as visiting faculty at its Gulshan-e-Iqbal Campus. I later joined Star Links Cambridge School, where I worked as English Language Coordinator for two years.

Since 2008, I have been an integral part of KASB Institute of Technology (KASBIT), where I have taught a wide range of English Language and Business Communication courses to undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to my teaching contributions, I have played a dynamic role in academic administration and editorial development where I have served as the Head of Department / Chairperson for Social Sciences and English & Business Communication Department in different tenures viz 2009-11, 2014-17, 2028, 2019-22. Besides, I have also served as Head of the KASBIT Publication Committee (2018–2019) and later as Head of the Content Review Committee in the Faculty of Management & Information Sciences. In these roles, I supervised editorial work for the institutional magazine “Dimensions”, and numerous in-house publications such as flyers, brochures, admission forms, and social media content.
