Dr. Muhammad Raghib Zafar is a passionate academician, researcher, and mentor with a distinguished record of excellence in the fields of finance, Islamic banking, and business management education. Currently serving as Associate Professor at the KASB Institute of Technology (KASBIT), he has earned recognition for his commitment to developing future leaders equipped with analytical, ethical, and research-driven thinking. His career reflects a strong blend of scholarly depth, pedagogical innovation, and institutional engagement.

Dr. Zafar holds advanced qualifications in finance and management and teaches a diverse portfolio of subjects, including Corporate Finance, Financial Management, FinTech and Valuations, Econometrics, Islamic Banking and Finance, and Financial Risk Management. His teaching philosophy emphasizes experiential learning, case-based discussions, and the application of financial models using modern analytical tools such as Excel, EViews, and Power BI. He has successfully conducted various workshops on MS Excel, Financial Dashboards, and Islamic Financial Instruments, helping students translate classroom knowledge into real-world decision-making.

His research interests lie at the intersection of corporate governance, financial performance, and social responsibility of microfinance institutions—particularly within emerging economies. His recent studies employ econometric methods to examine how board size, independence, diligence, and audit mechanisms influence the financial and social performance of microfinance institutions. By integrating conventional and Islamic frameworks, Dr. Zafar contributes valuable insights to the academic and policy discourse on sustainable and ethical finance.

In addition to his teaching and research contributions, Dr. Zafar has actively represented KASBIT at numerous national and international academic platforms. He has served as Session Chair and Co-Chair at prominent international conferences and was invited as Guest of Honor at the 17th International Conference on Management & Social Sciences, themed “Technological Innovations for Business and Economic Success.” His role as Faculty Mentor for the CFA Research Challenge 2024, 2025 highlights his commitment to guiding students in applying analytical and valuation techniques to real-world cases. Moreover, his participation in the ICAP Education Convention 2024 and NRPU research proposal submissions under the Higher Education Commission (HEC) underscore his proactive approach toward enhancing institutional research culture and academic excellence.

Dr. Zafar envisions advancing the integration of financial innovation, Islamic ethics, and research-based learning into Pakistan’s higher education system. His professional journey embodies a pursuit of academic rigor, social relevance, and technological advancement. He continues to inspire students and colleagues by combining intellectual depth with practical insight and an unwavering belief in education as a transformative force.
